Not Just Your Grandfather’s VFW”

 Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9851 is very active and has been honored as Leading Post in the State of Tennessee for Community Service and the plans for 2016/2017 show no indication of  slowing down. Just take a look at the various activities benefiting not only veterans, but the community as well.


VFW Post 9851 Spearhead Relief Fund:

Aid distressed Veterans and their families – financial, physical or mental. Operation Stand Down – assisting homeless Veterans providing social services. Host Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, and Patriotic Art awards and banquet.


VFW Post 9851 Auxiliary:

                          This group serves the community in a number of ways. Hosts lunches and supports local VA hospital patients. One of their charitable programs is seen throughout the Hendersonville area schools that display American flags in their classrooms. Supports Cancer Aid & Research Program.

VFW Post 9851 Booster Club:

                        This group supports the Post and its endeavors in a myriad of ways. Their continuous hosting of events allows the Post to update our fun things to do in the Lounge.  Their continued support of the Post’s Spearhead Relief Fund is instrumental in the success of our programs.


Veterans Food Pantry – Cooperative Effort with Vietnam Veterans Chapter 240

                        Assisting disadvantaged Veterans and their families with Food, Supplies and Financial Assistance – Saturday Mornings.

Community Involvement

                        Assisting Local School Projects – JROTC HS Programs

Assisting Local Boy/Girl/Explorer Scouts

Safety Day and Loyalty Day Programs

Supporting Chamber of Commerce, Civic Groups and Political Organizations

Hosting “Hendersonville Veteran’s Day Parade”
