According to VFW National By- Laws, Section 218 & 704, each Post SHALL maintain a Post Relief Fund. This Fund is used to record All Transactions, all income under Receipts and all expenses under Expenditures. A Post can help the needy Veterans and their Families. donate to the National Home, donate to Patriotic Youth Programs like the Voice of Democracy and pay Dues of needy Veterans from Relief Fund.
Post 9851 Has designated the Post's Relief Fund as " Post 9851 Spearhead Relief Fund". 100% of all funds collected are utilized in support of Veterans, Veterans Families, and various VFW programs.
For Fiscal year 2009/2010 The Post's Spearhead Relief Fund has disbursed over $15,000. The Post began it's Needy Food Bank and distributes food weekly.
